Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the gentle insertion of very fine, sterile, single use needles into specific points on the body. This process stimulates movement of energy within the body, allowing natural healing to take place by regulating the nervous system. Additionally, acupuncture promotes normal function for the muscular, circulatory, lymphatic, reproductive, digestive and respiratory systems. Modern science has confirmed many physiological changes that take place with the insertion of acupuncture needles. Our approach is to mold modern knowledge with practical application of historical wisdom and empirical research.
Your acupuncture visit will include a comprehensive interview covering health history, present concerns, and overall body constitution. The acupuncture points are then selected after forming a differential diagnosis by analyzing the information taken from the intake along with the currently presenting signs and symptoms.
This process allows your acupuncturist formulate a customized treatment plan that will simultaneously treat the symptoms and root cause of your health concern.

Acupuncture Side Effects
The only negative side effects from acupuncture include bruising, swelling or soreness that normally last a day or two. Since acupuncture is a relatively non-invasive procedure, the immediate and long lasting relief far surpasses any discomfort you may experience during treatment. Our acupuncturists will constantly check in with you during your initial visits to make sure you feel comfortable and safe. Most of our patient's take a nap while they are laying down with the needles. Some patient's prefer to bring a family member or friend to wait with them in their treatment room. If you have any questions, we are more than happy to answer any concerns!
